Welcome to Bio Blitz with SEEC!
With SEEC high school students, experts and scientists you will be participating in a survey. You will help a marine conservation area by finding and identifying plants and animals.
You will learn how to use iNature, a worldwide surveying mapping tool on your hand held device.
Scope of the day
10:20: Orientation and shuttle: Reynolds arrives, meet at dock and shuttle to bio blitz sight
(Snack and iNature tutorial)
11:00-1:00: Observe and record: survey and record observations
12:45: Sea talk with local expert
1:15 Observe and Record: seine and continue surveying and recording observations
2:30: Shuttle back to school or community hall
2:45-3:30: Share findings, view map on iNature on large overhead projector.
3:30 Shuttle to ferry with stop at coffee bus
-hand held device with iNature downloaded (at least 1/every 2 students)
-extra socks (people's feet always seem to get wet!)
